Remembering You
I remember you like yesterday
So strong and bold and not afraid
I can feel your skin, so soft and smooth
It’s so peaceful, I yearn not to move
I remember you like yesterday
Your hair so brown and free of fray
Your eyes so deep with cobalt blue
I am forever amazed by you
I remember you like yesterday
So full of life till that fatal day
Hurried to the hospital where you were tested
But time was short before you rested
I remember you like yesterday
So beautiful as I watch you lay
I say my prayers and brush your face
As I looked down into that coffin space
I remember you like yesterday
And my feelings will never go away
My love for you is never-ending
Hugs and kisses I am forever sending
I remember you like yesterday
And talk about you to little May
She has your eyes and brilliant smile
And is there to remind me life’s worth while
I remember you like yesterday
And to you a visit I often pay
Don’t worry, soon we will be together
Because in heaven it will be forever
I remember you like yesterday
I tell God to watch over you in every way
And it’s never really hard to see
That you’re the best thing ever to happen to me
I remember you like yesterday
So strong and bold and not afraid
I can feel your skin, so soft and smooth
It’s so peaceful, I yearn not to move
