when i woken up
when i woken up it felt like a saturday, a new day, like the peeling back of a layer of skin; but it
was night again
the moon hung there, a broken saucer in the sky and the hair on my arms bristled, like when your breath followed me in the fractured strobe lights
your shoes layed still and silent next to the fireplace, ripped up
and tounge twisted carcasses of our last conversation
the milk in the fridge had soured but i put drank it anyway; its thickness gagging me like your lukewarm words
but i bit my torn lip and swallowed.
