my rainy field
You stand out there alone
letting the cold surround you
Letting the wind whip your skirt
Letting loose hair fly around you
Your feet firmly on the cold wet earth
Cold air cold wind, all fill my lungs
Listened to the church bell in the distance
As it rung
Its calling me back home,
To the safety of the house
But if feel safer in the cold wet field
Letting the rain whip about
After a while I return home
My hair is sopping wet
My mother starts to yell at me
“you’ll catch your death yet”
And that night as I lay there
In my warm and cozy bed
I was back in the rainy field
Somewhere in my head
