Surfacing
Inhaling lucid water under a blanket of blue liquid
The sunlight stains my skin in waves
I’m floating, weightless in a sea of emotions
looking, waiting for you extended hand of rescue
but by the time you reach me I’ll be long gone
living amongst fairytales
I feel you skin against my forearms
a friction
so natural and unconditional
you pull me forwards only to lose grip
and watch me glide back down
I’ll lay here on the sea bed
longing in loneliness
until I can face this
I’ll find you on the surface.
