Awaiting the Light
I am exhausted, oh love so untrue,
And everything involving you-
Hath left my mind, my bones to crack
For me to remain hardly intact.
My heart does weep; again and again,
Oh, how it does beat
With agonizing pulses; it’s pearly gate’s splinters;
Fleshy colour drained from creatures
Peeling with unwanted grain,
Cutting with nails of steely length, my life’s bane.
With hearts of heavy stones, use shackles of soundless
Torment; they have stripped me; empty, artless.
Vicious to keep purpose, and force of stale breath,
I hath not awaken from slumber; I can still taste death,
Has my mind gone weary, I can not hear it sing in tune.
With a top hat on, something stands awaiting the light of the moon.
