Lonely
If only you were lonely
I'd tell you about
the secrets that lurk
within the gruesome ruins,
and you'd find out that
they're still beating.
Be my archaeologist,
and remember to
dig deep past the
warning signs because
that's what will bind us.
I don't want you to
be a foreigner, I declare
this to be your land
if you promise to
take pride in what you own.
The sun is too dim to
provide the proper
nutrients here, so
smile and I'll be revived.
If only you were lonely,
I'd never look back
on my best memories,
my eyes are stitched
into the fabric of our future.
One day we'll have a
customized blanket
of dreams draped across
our shoulders, sheltering
our heartbeats.
Be my tailor and help me
not to disengage the
stitching you ran
through my insanity
the moment we met.
I need you.
If only you were lonely,
you'd be mine.
