Heavy Guitar
Swaying with the crowd,
Getting lost in the sound,
Of heavy guitar music.
The surrounding bodies,
Press,
Push,
And jump,
In tune with the rhythm,
Within the symphony of discordant melodies,
Coming together to flow,
And glide,
Making my heart beat faster,
To throb with each note,
Each chord,
Coming to an apex,
1,2,3,4,
1,2,3,4….
Until it finally ends.
But the guitar still plays,
The drum still rolls,
Echoing in my ears
With eyes that are distantly blind,
Glazed as my breath seeps out,
With the lingering memory of—
Heavy guitar.
