Sign of the Times
O, devilish fiend!
O, disrupter of euphoria,
Of peace, of joy.
Why do you scream so fervently and so relentlessly?
Can you not see my pleasant grin?
My tousled hair sprawled leisurely upon
O such a billowy soft pillow?
How can something so petite and harmless
cause me such grief?
Of course I understand.
You do have a duty.
An obligation to wake my sweet slumber
with your incessant shouting
So please excuse me
if my first action upon rising
is to throw you against
a hard pacifying wall.
