Aspirations
I've got dreams, ideas, and wishes.
Plans, and goals, and needs.
I've got desires
for after high school,
and aspirations for my life.
I have thoughts
of changing this world
to let all dreamers fly.
But in this situation,
I would never reach my goals.
With all these limitations
I could not build my road.
I'd fall into the carved out path
of teenage angst, despair,
I'd never run through open fields
of warm, summer air.
So, should I give in to this fate
I know that I would fall.
Should I let the sins live on
and answer to their calls,
then I would be the wrong one,
alone and afraid
in a broken society.
