The Child
Beautiful child
Smiling as she picks up shells from the shore
Skipping along the water
In the shallow start of life.
Her smile lights up the sand
And the floor sparkles
As she etches her presense,
A sudden glint catches her eye
She quickly runs towards her newly discovered treasure;
A bottlecap, shiny and surreal.
She carefully picks it up, fascinated.
Never before has she come across anything so beautiful..
She spends hours tilting it, amazed at her ability to make it gleam.
A butterfly flits peacefully across the sky.
She looks up, sees it's beautiful wings
Hypnotized, she drops the forgotten bottlecap
And hops behind the butterfly.
