The Play
Lord above show me the way
Be my guide through garish day
For I wear a mask that me does defile
The blackest of all the human guile
I hear the music but I cannot sing
And into dark Hades myself I would fling
For I dwell in the costume they hide me behind
Because my soul they never could find
Trapped in the mask that covers my eye
Dreaming of the day I'll lay down to die
And shed this costume, burn the mask
Watch my soul complete its only task
Hoping that you find the match that I lit
So to your own mask you'll not have to submit
