Open Heart
My heart opens with a cry of pain,
As the trap door sends me into nothingness.
You said you would stop.
You never did.
I think of your hands on mine.
Your voice saying my name the way it did.
You locked my open heart.
You sent me away.
You threw me out.
Why?
Now,
I met a guy.
He is everything you were not.
I cannot love him.
I can only think of you.
The way you burned me,
Left me,
Tore my heart to shreds.
I can no longer hold on.
I am falling.
Because of you,
My open heart is broken.
