I Tap My Fingers and Hum a Little Song
I don’t always pay attention.
I don’t always follow along.
I have better things to do.
So I hum a little song.
I often am impatient.
I wait for the bell to gong.
All the while, I tap my fingers
To the song I hum along.
My mind is always busy,
As busy as a bee.
Maybe you will sing along
As I tap my fingers and hum a little song.
Who knows what I’ll be thinking?
If you could call it that.
A better word is dreaming.
I’ll use that word, but don’t wait till I drop my hat.
I dream of places I’ll never go (Neverland)
I dream of people I’ll never meet (Orlando Bloom)
Then I think of a song
And tap my fingers to the beat.
My mind is always busy,
As busy as a bee.
Maybe you’ll sing along
As I tap my fingers and hum a little song.
