My paddle glides through
the clear water
bubbles in its wake
lifting out, it
sprinkles me with
cool droplets
my paddle swings
back and over in a
smooth, controlled arc
the left end dips into the
water, then returns
to the air
a continuous spiral
directed by the strength
of my arms
propelling myself through
the water, I bask
in the heat of the
sun and the triumph of
moving by my own power
