My Dad

He took me to my first baseball game,
and taught me to ride my first bike.
When I fell, he brushed off the gravel.
When thunderstorms shook my windows,
he'd move over and make room.
He'd tickle me with his whiskers,
when it'd been awhile since he's shaved.
He taught me to play ball,
and coached my 1st team.
He loves me good and bad,
and even though we don't
share the same last name,
he's my Dad!
