The Last Stand
The last of them stood waiting,
For they knew what was coming.
An enormous force,
Armed to the teeth to destroy.
Unstoppable by mortals,
Yet they still stood waiting.
Their bright armor shining,
Their weapons sharpened.
Left with their last bits of food,
They grew very famished.
Outnumbered by millions,
Yet they still stood waiting.
Their eyes glistened,
In anticipation of the coming events.
Their minds on one thing,
To defend their families.
They felt the ground trembling,
The thunder clouds gathering.
At last they saw their enemy approach,
Yet they still stood waiting.
