Shoulders of my Sisters

March 30, 2008
By Anonymous

I’ve lived by
Sinking bleached teeth into semi-hearted suns
And whisking from their existence conversations
For later silences
And stealing their fact of being under cover of night
By placing their pictures in my head
And pick-pocketing the minutes of each day to open my mind

I am not I
For souls that I meet one day and know forever
Among them the ones that bleach my teeth
And color my blood a rusty red
Among them those who’ve drawn my profile against the sky
A dark line that only lights can find
Among them those who love me like Sister
For a moment only, for what matters
I’ll scream to find those who know my voice
But what my mind doesn’t know
Is I scream to die among those who are gone.
