Hiding the world
In the cold wind
where the war stole
innocence
and the shrill screams
pushed you back
your hands calloused
your fingers bleeding
eyes hollow
this was not expected
fill me up
drink it down
starving children
the cold kennel
where that animal
lies
the hungry cries
that swell in your throat
words deprive
this is not hope
nor need
just breath
and an empty
cigarette lighter
each scar
each mark
burned
your heart not
pumping blood
not anymore
acid burning
the sky holding
you forgave the day
now wont night stay?
