"Time heals griefs and quarrels, for we change and are no longer the same persons."

I am from red lipstick,

Switching costumes between dances,

Shoes flying everywhere,

“Watch out it’s a ‘shoe fly’.”

I am from a ballet barre,

Plié, tondué, rond de jambe,

Wearing a black leo and pink tights,

“I don’t want to see what you ate for lunch.”

I am from a hospital,

Broken bones, fractures, sprains,

X-Rays every month,

“What did you do this time?”

I am from music,

Fast, slow, happy, sad,

There is always something different,

“Who wants to listen to some Mozart?”

I am from a dance mom,

Taking me to my competitions,

Some far and some close,

“Win or lose, you are a winner in my heart.”

I am from a teacher,

Teaching me all the things I know,

I make mistakes, but she fixes them,

“Dance for yourself, don’t worry about who’s watching.”

I am from friends,

Coming to support me in what I love,

Cheering for me even when I fall,

“You look like an angel when you dance.”

I am like a star burst. A juicy contradiction. I'm hard to figure out, but when you get to my center, your suprised! It's not what you thought it would be, huh.

I really like this poem its very relateable- I do ballet too! And I love how you organized the lines in each stanza with a quote at the end of each!

If you can, please check out some of my poetry! Thanks!
