Hurricane
giant storm
we need the rain
thrashing waves
I need to be stirred
lightning and thunder
screaming
God’s orchestra
plays with the symphony
of a thousand angels
washing the earth clean
pouring down
dripping into puddles
smooth surfaces
to look in
seeing something new
epiphanies
filling me up
like the rain
fills the holes
in the streets
with water
green eyes look at me
up from the puddle
and I look again
a rainbow
and then I smile
because I know
I needed the rain.
