To Mom
If only you were here to see
I wonder if you'd even know me
that happy, silly girl you raised
the person that i am these days
are different, their like day and night
she wants to cry, i want to fight
Mama, I have been through Hell
that little girl you raised so well,
tired, twisted, beaten, bruised.
all she can say is that I miss you
your smiling eyes,
stories all wrapped up inside
I think i miss your mouth the most
the words you said, i hold them close
I keep them locked inside my heart,
along with you, in every part.
I miss you Mom
you made me strong
enough to always grin and bear it
I've got my story, i will share it
I've got my scars and I will show them
to anyone who wants to know them
Mama, smile at me from Heaven
you're the cloud I keep my head in
memories of us and you
keep me marching right on through
these broken streets of life without you
struggling to keep my heart true
when we see how i turn out
I'll wonder if i made you proud...
I love you
