Near the end of the year of school
All the children began to drool.
They thought of no work for a while
Which gave each one a big smile
They began to obsess
‘Bout the three month recess.
And imagined and dreamed
Of the beach and ice cream.
They counted the days
Till the summertime blaze
Except for poor Jewel
Who’s stuck in summer school.
