Dancing Lips
There is an elegance in being lost
I said as we watched
The leaves slow dance
To the winds enchanted whisper
Carving ridged patterns into
The smooth autumn melody
Before making their bed on the blacktop
We continued step by step
And joined hand in hand
Beads of sweat slithered
Into my quivering grip
Surrounded by disheartened trees
Stiff undressed limbs pointing
In every direction
I focused on her lips
With loving intention
Delicious candy apple red
Drowning in an appetizing moisture
Flowing with the passion of the river
That followed alongside her
My heart acted as percussion
To an erratic rhythm
Our lips united
Tilting
Twisting
Turning
A first kiss
