Stones

Tom skipped a stone along the waves one day.
Then leaning back, he watched it hop and wubble
The wind blew fresh and pushed the stone astray.
The waves a frothing hid it beneath a bubble.

From far above the boiling waves a bird
Floated upon the warm channels of the air
With no care in the world. Suddenly he heard.
A small stone skipping. At it he did stare.

A passerby beneath tumult observed
Below the soothing waves he was stirred.
He watched the stone skip and take a swerve.
The stone saved him the trouble of seeing the bird.

The small guy gazed into toothless jaw
And sadly, it was the last thing he ever saw.
