A Deafening Silence
In the blink of an eye she swept over our home,
Scaring and tearing at the helpless dome.
First, the roof was lashed into bits.
Then, the guest bedroom got its.
The wind cried like a child in nightmares or dreams.
Finally, the foundation was ripped at the seams.
As I lay in bed amidst all the mess,
I was thrown into the night under duress.
So, sailing I went into the cold black sea,
But I spoke with this “god” and made my final plea:
“Please, please, please take me back to what I know.”
And in the blink of an eye he just said, “No.”
