coming back
Those familiar crooked lanes and small houses
I remember them well enough
As beautiful memories are hard to forget
Kids I have played with after school
Are readying for college
The church grounds at the end stood still
Where I had played all summer
Those days are gone forever
And I don’t want them to come back
As memories are sweeter than the present
Watching this place brings back the unforgettable
The place I knew very well or not at all
And I wonder where time had flown
I searched for that home
Where I haven’t come for years
As I reached
I noticed it hasn’t changed a bit
But I have.
