Sister

Sister,

Heather,

Friend,

Never.
She plainly has pleasure
When I am elsewhere
She returns with a glare
To stay in her bedroom
The beat of her anger
Strengthens with the annoyance
The aggravation of me
But plainly she does not realize
What love really means
She is like a badger
So unobservant
She does not see me coming
To ask for a hand because
All she will see is a mess
The jumble of her room
Slipshod, sloppy, slovenly
And a glimpse of the road
The next thing you know you’re flung incidentally
When it comes to me
What do you see,
A hug, love, snugness
Of my sister and me
The flow of the music
The dance of the sea
I can see in her eyes
Dancing with me
A good teacher she will be
Bright, brilliant, brisk
She has no trouble
Getting on task
To with the fondness, friendship, fellowship
Of me and my sis
Sister,

Heather,

Friends,

Forever.
