They tell us we're fighting for freedom.
They tell us we're fighting against terror.
But there is no freedom there,
And terror still remains.
We were supposed to bring democracy;
We brought bloodshed instead.
We were supposed to make our beloved country safer,
But now it is even more odious.
What is the price that we pay for all this?
How do we pay for the bombs we've dropped,
For the innocent children who have died because of us,
For the culture we've destroyed.
The price is the highest it can possibly be;
We must give up that which we hold most precious.
We pay with what we spilled:
We pay with blood.
