10 PM and I'm sitting home
When will you call?
Nothing I've done this year but you
matters at all
Thirteen goes by, leaving me hung
on your last word

Two more hours till I'm fourteen, yet I feel small
'Cause I'm stuck staring blankly
at my bedroom wall
If you loved me
You would not leave me to die here

How could you seduce me?
You knew I was helpless
Still you took advantage
and gave me my first kiss

When I hit rock bottom
you opened your door
I thought I was safe
till I fell through the floor

12 PM and I stubbornly climb into bed
You're a nightmare, you'll fade
As I lay down my head
Someday I'll look back
Thirteen's a year to remember

The author's comments:
This poem is for the girl who enters her first relationship and is blinded by her happiness. She doesnt see what trap she has fallen into and finds out all too late, having her heart broken. My hope is that victims of similar relationships will read my poem and take refuge in the fact that they are not alone.
