The Gift
The Gift
by: Quinn North
Green, green, nothing but lush green
Oozing from pores that are just as green
As wonderful as this scene may seem
It really is quite gruesome
Considering the green is a plant’s life force
Flowing from it like blood from a murder victim
For the plant has indeed been murdered
And as the last drop of life leaves it
It is picked up and carried away
Yet it loses none of it’s beauty in death
And it is not buried, or dumped in a river
Nor is it hidden at all, like a normal victim would be
Instead it is given as a gift to a woman
A gift of death
