“Art is the only way to run away without leaving home.”

— Twyla Tharp (Dancer/Choreographer)

Your love to me was extraordinary
For love is strong as death, jealousy fierce as the grave.
For he loved him as he loved his own soul.
But you only hate me; you do not love me.

For love is strong as death, jealousy fierce as the grave.
How long will you love vain words and seek after lies?
You only hate me; you do not love me!
Has his steadfast love forever ceased?

How long will you love vain words and seek after lies?
But love covers all offenses...
Has his steadfast love forever ceased?
He will love you, bless you, and multiply you.

But love covers all offenses
For your love is better than wine
He will love you, bless you, and multiply you.
Refresh me with apples for I am sick with love!

For your love is better than wine
Arise, my love, my beautiful one, and come away
Refresh me with apples for I am sick with love,
Intoxicated always in her love

Arise, my love, my beautiful one, and come away
Let us delight ourselves with love
Intoxicated always in her love
Love her and she will guard you.

Let us delight ourselves with love
For now my husband will love me
Love her and she will guard you.
Enjoy life with the wife whom you love.

For now my husband will love me
But are they the pinions and plumage of love?
Enjoy life with the wife whom you love.
You are beautiful my love, your eyes are doves.

But are they the pinions and plumage of love?
Your love to me was extraordinary
You are beautiful my love, your eyes are doves
For he loved him as he loved his own soul...

The author's comments:
This is a a found pantoum. These phrases were all found in one literary piece, and I put them together to form this very long pantoum.
I know it's hard to understand– some things you won't understand at all unless you know the source of my material/inspiration.
But I'm hoping you the best in deciphering it! Also, I would love it if you would comment your opinions about what it says.
Thank You!
