Breathe
“Breathe” they say, it’s so easy to do.
However, it’s not the same without you.
You’re so far away, but you’re still the best.
You’ve taken hold of this thing beating in my chest.
You call it a heart, and I call it yours.
It’s full of rooms, but for you, there are no locked doors.
You hold it tenderly and love it so.
You carry it carefully, like precious cargo.
I know it’s safe, being kept in your warm embrace.
It’s there, that my love meets your never-ending grace.
I could never ask for more than what I deserve
Yet I’ve still got you here to soothe every last nerve.
I have you right here with me, all to my own,
And if that’s selfish of me, I hope I never know.
You’re the light of my life, my reason for waking.
My love. My home. My cure for the aching.
I’ll hold you tight in this infinite bliss.
I’ll love you till the end, and savor every last kiss.
