The Meadow
One foggy September day
I walked to the old meadow
And along my way
I met someone new.
There was something familiar
In the way he looked at me
And though it seemed peculiar
Somehow our love grew.
We would always find a way
To make it to our meadow
And knew we'd never betray
The love we'd come to know.
And then one September day
I walked to the meadow
But you were not on my way
No you could not be found.
And on this cold September day
I found why you did not show
I found your grave
In the meadow I had come to know.
