To The Moon
The world spins around us
faster as each day goes by
but I never pass one moment without a smile
because I'm happy knowing that you're mine
You take my hand in yours
holding our hands up to the light
you comment how our fingers fit so flawlessly
and lace them together tight
I'm laying in your arms
surrounded by the sounds of night
the stars are twinkling up above
creating a blanket for the sky so alight
You point one of them out to me
It's the most radiant of them all
"But nothing compared to your smile," you say,
"My beautiful babydoll"
Next you point out the moon
bathed in a beautiful glow
"That's how much I love you, way out there." You tell me.
I smile because I already know
I settle back into your embrace
and stare around at our sky
but my smile soon fades away
as I realize it is time to say goodbye
But that smile doesn't stay gone for long
because I know you'll be back soon
I know that always and forever I have your heart
and you love me to the moon
