Midnight
Look outside the window,
Only to see darkness,
The evil of the night.
Nothing on the street,
No cars, nobody,
Only to see the bright flickering street lights,
Helping a homeless man with one shoe,
Ripped jacket and shivering.
To guide him to a warm,
Comfy spot to sleep.
Overtaken by the dead of the night,
Only to see that crime lurks the streets,
When the shadow of the night arrives.
To lay in bed,
Wondering what really happens,
In the shadow for the moon.
To try and understand why,
People choose to be out in the blackout,
That appears every night.
Only to understand that,
There is only evil that awaits them.
