Dream-catcher on My Wall
I'm lying in bed awake,
Restless and scared.
I turn on my light
And begin to cry.
The girl that I love
Cannot trust me.
She knows what I've done-
Cheated and lied.
I look up at my wall,
Tears in my eyes,
And I see a dream-catcher,
Woven so tightly.
Within the spiral on
My wall, my fears are trapped.
I start to look back to the past
And I get dragged forward.
I know she loves me,
But this good side of me
Doesn't want to lose her,
Not for the world.
I'm so afraid of loss,
I become completely trapped
Inside of the dream-catcher;
I am lifeless, but not dead.
I'm lost in its weave
Of string and leather.
My girl comes to me
And pulls me out.
With a kiss, life
Is breathed back into me.
I grasp her shoulders
And we embrace.
The fears are left behind me,
Caught in the web.
I'm too afraid to look back,
So now I sleep.
