I am Not Afraid of Dying
I am not afraid of dying
I am afraid of never living
I am afraid of never seeing a sunrise with you
Watching ink black fade to sharp cobalt blue
I am afraid of being stuck, halted, and static
A dusty old statue, forgotten in somebody's attic
I am afraid of never expanding my mind
Trapped forever in an ignorant bind
I am afraid of watching my life slip by
Of the winds of status quo swallowing my cry
Of mouthing the words of a bitter old lie
Yes, what I fear is not living
I'm not afraid to die.
