the darkness
Darkness it surrounds me,
Coming ever closer,
Suffocating the light,
Till it’s out of sight,
The darkness caves in around me,
Till I feel there is no hope left to fight it any more,
I finally give in,
And when the tight rope that is my life was fraying and about to snap,
You came in and pulled me from the darkness that I’ve come to know as my life,
You pulled me from the dark and brought me into light,
You saved me from myself,
And all my thoughts,
You took me and healed my wounds,
But the scares are still there,
Threating to burst open again at any moment,
And release the darkness yet again.
