Your Box
I put you in a box.
A little box, and closed it tight
Because if you ever did escape
You'd come and torture me at night.
You'd sink into my head
My love, my help, my friend
And crying of all our hopes
And how each one did end.
You'd come in banging pots and pans
Singing words that smart
Reminding me with every second
The dying of my heart.
So I captured you mid-song
You hardly didn't fight
And i put you away in a secret place
A little box, and closed it tight.
