His face was of an angel but his heart was cold as ice
And judging a book by its cover was the story of her life
They say you can never know they contents of a story untold
But I bet she wishes she would have left this one unwritten instead of watching her life unfold.

Ever seen a man chase a womann until his legs gave out?
His determination assured her he was the one, no doubt
So she gave him a fighting chance to prove himself to be the one
Not really sure of what she had agreed to, but not in any state to undo what she had done.

The chase went on for years until onei day she figured it was time
Gave away her innocence to a man whom she was soon to see the other side
Her tears of regret stained his pillow;she knew things would never be the same
And to calm her cry he said to her “Baby I can assure you I will never change.”

She thought nothing of his words except excatly what she wanted to hear
But now as she looks back, him not changing is exactly what she should have feared .

From the phone calls of other women, to the foreign fragance on his skin,
He still told her she had no say, he was the one bringing the dollars in
She sat in silence, she couldn’t believe those words from her lover
She had already been warned, she should have listened to her brother,
So she changed her apperance, but would that really make him stay?
Maybe for a little while, but every good thing ends someday.

She was going to leave, she just couldn’t take it anymore
But throwing up in the bathroom stalls paralyzed her from opening that door
She couldn’t leave now; she had a child to be born
Crying in the corner because all of her plans were torn,
Besides, how could she ever leave the father of her child?
In her eyes their relationship was still worthwhile.

He wanted to be a father, he was so happy to hear the news
But she was unsure if a baby would really end this feud
Yet she would do anything to satisfy her lover
Even if that meant throwing away all her dreams just to be a mother.

They were happy once more, until that dreadful day
Their beloved baby had been lost, stress carried it away
Her lover got tired of her and decided to leave
But how could she live without the man who did everything for her except breath.
And she never got the strength to fully let go
But distance contains her feelings now only memories flow
From this experience she learned that things are never what they appear
And before you judge her struggle, make sure you full understand her tears.

Her once upon a time never got to end in happily ever after
Just a beginning, middle, and end but not necessarily in that order if you ask her
Because his face was of an angel but his heart was cold as ice
And judging a book by its cover was the story of her life.
