The pursuit of happiness is a vigorous one,
After all that’s said, and after all that’s done
The want of release from stress and pain,
It’s a desire and feeling that I wish to retain

The feeling of happiness and joy
Is a gift that is not just a simple toy
It is a want that drives all searching souls,
Both young and brash, wise and old

So I’ll do my work, labor, and toil
To chase joy, which seems too quick to spoil
Nevertheless I am motivated by its rewards
Happiness is priceless, yet the poorest can afford.

Happiness extends it arms to all who search,
Yet it is not hidden, in plain sight it will perch
Happiness is an entity that we all dearly desire
In joyous laughter and smiles, happiness we admire.
