alone
The bones
Shift and groan,
As they got up
Each step was pain
Shooting up the old timer’s legs
Shifting of bony feet scratched
Across the floor
Shaky hands open the fridge
The sad eyes search
for something to eat.
Nothing,
Sadness spread
As the legs made their way
Back to the chair with
A single creek and groan of the chair
From the weight bearing down on both of them,
With sadness,
Hunger,
Alone.
