I did not know,
I was important,
I didn't know,
they cared.
I put smiles among faces,
And sunshine in their eyes.
I was mentioned,
And thought about.
I'm here feeling guilty,
Because, I did not want to go.
I did not realize,
I mattered.
I didn't know,
they cared.
I put smiles on their faces,
And sparks in their eyes.
I did not know,
I was important.
Now I know I am.
