You seem very small, alone in the rain
Your head bent low to hide your tears
Your back is hunched below the weight of your pain
Is each step a reminder of your flaws and fears?

But remember also that you're never alone
So turn your head when I call your name
Open your eyes as I start to run
Brush away your tears and take my hand

And together we will walk into the sunshine

I will steal your sorrows and cut them in half
Shatter them and scatter them into the wind
And darling, when you start to laugh
I will cradle your happiness in my palm
And multiply it with my own

Sometimes, all you hear is the roar of the thunder
And maybe now you start to wonder
If it would be best to just surrender

But when you drop to your knees, defeated and broken
When tears are streaming down your face
I will speak the words you've left unspoken
I will pick up your sword and fight in your place

So lend me your sorrow, your bitterness and shame
Extend your hand and place it in mine
There's no need to be afraid when we're together in the rain
For I will vanquish your darkness and make your sun shine
