Nameless
Why do we have names?
We all try to hide our true selves.
What are our aims?
Truth be told, we conceal our inner beauty on restricted shelves.
I think we are all somewhat nameless.
But does that mean we’re blameless?
Certainly not, I do contend!
We stand here in our costumes trying to pretend,
But pretend to who?
Well, if only we knew.
We adorn our costumes with silly embellishments.
And we plaster our faces beyond recognition.
We’d be lucky if our identity could be found by the mortician.
Do you think I’m trying to make a mockery of mankind?
Cause I’m not, I’m just trying to clarify the undefined.
