The Tunnel
He told me he didn’t see a light at the end of his tunnel,
So I was there to lead him to the tunnel.
I wanted him to see the same path,
To avoid the chance of wrath.
I wanted to help him find his way,
Because his life was full of dismay.
I led and I led,
And we walked in silent – stained dread.
The closer we got,
The farther he fell.
I knew not,
Whether he followed me without aim,
But I could easily tell,
That he undoubtedly walked in shame.
