It's been a gift
having your life in mine,
sharing vivid memories,
always being with you.
It's been a gift
to hold you when you cry
and sob into my shoulder
as I try to comfort you.
It's been a gift
pulling you into the rain
next to the warming fire
where our lips will meet again.
It's been a gift
sitting on a bench with you
where we can talk and be real
and act like who we are.
It's been a gift
having you in my life
as we make wonderful memories
as we live together.
It's been a gift
loving you.
