I Believe in Sunny Days
When I close my eyes, nothing exists
not the clothes on my carpet
or homework in my bag
not how my mother never calls
or how I used to wish she did
not the friends I have lost
or the ones I have not made
nor the things that I want
even worst; what I need
When I close my eyes,
and slip into my dreams
Spin head first into a world
where I can finally be at peace
Morning comes too fast
but I wake in routine
Get dressed in uniform
ignore the phone when it rings
I finally have a smile
that meets my hazel eyes
I know I will leave this town
when my chance comes by
I will travel the world
and regret nothing when I die
I know I have a voice
that could make my choir cry
But for now,
I will sit on the bus
and watch the raindrops
through the window pane
I believe in sunny days
those and raindrops fill my dreams
