Barefoot
In stirred darkness
I often go walking
Bare feet hitting cold sidewalk
Without a sound.
The city lights are bright
And I can't see the stars
over the glow of the streetlamps.
My walk turns to a run.
I leave the lights behind me.
I'll run all night if I have to
just to feel the grass
beneath my feet.
