Need Love?

See it but never feel it.
Get close, only to push it away.
“Don’t know what you’ve got til it’s gone”
Epitome of my life.
What is wrong with me?
What makes me so un-lovable?
Can someone remove this defective sign from my forehead,
And replace it with a kiss.
I want more than mediocre.
I want someone to miss.
Do I ask for too much?
Are my requirements unachievable?
My heart remains unconquered, unattained.
I’m tired of fairy tale endings,
Silly thoughts put in my head by unrealistic, but hopelessly believable movies.
They are all the same.
Girl meets boy. Girl messes it up. Boy forgives girl.
Happily Ever After.
At least they let on that relationships have problems.
I want raw, unrelenting love.
The real deal.
No movie, novel, or episode of “Sex and the City” could ever touch.
Left alone, drowning in thoughts,
Who else in the world could need love,
Like I need love?

I really, really like this! The way you phrase your ideas is perect. :) Just thought: the style almost mkes me think this would also work in paragraph form as a sort of mixture of prose and poetry, like lyrical flash fiction maybe? It seems right on the line between the two and could probably go either way. just a thouht. :)

Honestly, this poem should be commented more than "Daddy's Womb". This poem is by for better. I'm sick of looking at that half-crapped poem sitting up there at the most commented and top voted poem on here. It just disgustes me. This poem at least deserves the credit. This poem is really good. Check out some of my work if you would like.

A little old drama with a modern twist. I like.

I do think it is very real, and I like that. I just... didn't really like reading it, if that makes sense.

Thank you for your honesty. I truly appreciate your feedback.

I know my poem is different than most of my other poems and most poetry people have read, but my purpose in writing this was to let people in to my mind and my heart, both which I believe to lack structure.

"Whiney and naive..." I think that basically sums up at least one period in our lives as teenagers, we all go through times when we are naive, and it seems the only way to let it out is to whine. I do not really see it as whining though, more like questioning, the questioning of life and how that causes us to mature and grow up.

But that is just how I see it.

Honestly, I think this is kind of whiney and naive. It's too... vernacular sounding. Like, you're just talking, not writing poetry.
